A Traditional Music Recital presented by Na Píobairí Uilleann on the first Tuesday of every month. Tuesday 3rd January 2012, 21:30-23:30, at the Cobblestone. Notes and Narratives

Fri 12th January, 20:30-22:00, at 15 Henrietta St: Brian Vallely: "18th/19th century piping through the artists eyes" ... ... ... Notes and Narratives provides a unique opportunity for musicians, singers and dancers to showcase valuable researched material in an engaging and entertaining format. The series, which takes place at NPU’s restored Georgian headquarters at 15 Henrietta St, will appeal to the general public, and especially to students, enthusiasts and fellow practitioners of the traditional arts keen to enhance their overall appreciation of music, song and dance. Lectures/performances will run for up to 45 minutes followed by an open discussion to provide the audience with an opportunity to engage with the performers. The aim of the series is to strengthen the legacy of Na Píobairí Uilleann’s founding members Breandán Breathnach and Seán Reid by helping to support and encourage research into the traditional arts. All material presented will be housed in NPU’s archive. Supported by The Arts Council and Dublin City Council Admission: €10 (Concession - €5)
